Brian Purcell s.j. at Burke Hall in the late 1950's, has been reported to us.
Sexual assault on two occasions at Burke hall. Unsure of his first name as yet,most likely Brian.
ex-students say:
“a bloke called Purcell ( Spelling)– a scholastic in about 1956 at Burke Hall trying to play with my genitals on 3 -4 ??? occasions.
The assault took place in the dungeon at Burke Hall after Football training on at least several occasions ( I was about 9 or 10)”
"the Jesuits had discovered his sexual proclivities with the boys and had run him out of Burke Hall literally ….
All of them throwing him out into the street - Studley Park Rd … and telling him not to come back."
At Burke hall Purcell had a boy on his lap at the front of the class and Purcell had his hand down inside the boy's shorts.
This boy reported it to his father, who was an ex-student,
a doctor and very influential in the school and the Melbourne Archdiocese,
His father reported it to the Burke Hall Principal Geoff Schneider SJ
This is probably how Purcell got run out of Burke Hall and disappeared.
2020 - There is an allegation that Geoff Schneider SJ sexually assaulted a student at St. Aloysius College, North sydney in the 1970's.
