YEAR 11 RETREATS
Report from former Kostka Hall student:
At the same school, Kostka Hall South Rd Brighton, there was this disgusting Pakie called Malcolm Joseph.
One day he inspected my desk, in Form 2 so I was 14yo, and it wasn't too bad but not good enough he kept saying.
He psyched himself into a rage as he liked to do, starting off by joking then gradually getting angrier and angrier.
He then tipped over my desk in front of the whole class, then forced me to pick up my books and put them back in.
I did and the books were all messy and the lid wouldn't close as I'd just stuffed them in there.
He then threw them to the front of the class from the back, damaging many of them.
He then opened the door and threw them in the rain from the 1st floor into the quadrangle below,
fucking almost every single one.
He then told me to go down and get them and sit under the statue of Mary in the drizzle and wait until summoned. 2 1/2 hours I sat there until a Priest came out and asked me why I was there.
I explained to him and he went off and came back 20mins later.
I could tell he was appalled. I'm not sure if it was at me or that teacher.
I've been watching your site for a while.
I've noticed the comments on Malcolm Joseph.
He would have to be one of the most evil, unhinged and sadistic people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting and being taught by.
The amount of times he went into fits of rage in class was phenomenal.
The amount of times he humiliated other students and myself shows he has come deep seated psychological issues.
He beat me and strapped me more times than I care to count.
It's disturbing he's moved to another Jesuit school with the same name in Berwick.
He needs some justice served on him, deserves some of his own back.
Hopefully a good dose of karma will come his way.
Another former student says:
I was a student at Kostka Hall, Brighton from Grade 5 until my parents finally pulled me out mid way through Grade 8. If only they had acted earlier.
My first encounter with the sadistic, abusive beast, Malcolm Joseph, began in Grade 7 in 1978. From the outset,
he very carefully selected his victims, including me. And once selected, you couldn't escape his daily abuse and public humiliations.
He took great pleasure in destroying you in front of your classmates. The psychological impact stays with me until this day.
The hatred I feel for him can sometimes be so overwhelming. His impact was swift and decisive.
My confidence was so low that by Grade 8, I had the pleasure of returning a report card to my parents where I scored a total of "4/100" for Maths.
I recall one day he stood me up in front of the whole class and said, "What do you want to be when you finish school?"
I answered, "a pilot". He scoffed and said "You'll never amount to anything in your life!"
This man should have been removed, but the Jesuits seemed to enjoy this kind of sickening behavior and in their world, maybe this kind of abuse was redeeming for those who received it.
Who knows. The very fact that teachers were allowed to walk around with thick leather straps (as a threat maybe, but always used) is a pretty sick concept.
I moved schools in 1979 where I found my confidence with the focussed support of the teachers and mentors there.
My story ends well because I ended up aceing HSC maths, have since graduated with two undergraduate degrees and a Masters; and guess what Malcolm, you sick, sadistic, monster......I am a pilot too!
God will judge you prick!
